McGonigle Time Only, the "Tuscar"

I have over the past 4 years been asked countless times, whether or not John & Stephen would ever make a more simple watch other than their debut McGonigle Tourbillon, which is a sublime timepiece, but quite complicated and not inexpensive!

A platinum McGonigle Tourbillon executed with a black rhodiumed mainplate:

I have known about the new project for a while now, and was shown CAD images last summer when I visited Neuchatel, and of course was sworn to secrecy. To see that it has come to fruition is a dream come true for John & Stephen. It is a wholly designed brand new movement, that they have spent years designing. It is unlike anything currently made in the watch world, and will incorporate features of longevity and great timekeeping ability, together with their design sense.

The initial 10 pieces are sold out, so those interested now, will have to wait for the second series using this movement. As the lads are keen not to have "internet rumours" abound, they are not releasing any of the CAD images of the movement or watch, we will have to wait until the watches are delivered to the lucky owners before we see this lovely creation.

Here is the artists rendering that they felt conveyed enough of the design and features for prospective buyers:

A big free sprung balance wheel and twin barrels housing the two mainsprings that will power this beauty, giving it much torque and aiding in the timekeeping ability. A watchmakers watch, in many ways an extension of John & Stephen's personalities showing the elements of traditional watchmaking together with a new modern design. This first offering will have a see through synthetic sapphire crystal, to reveal all the inner workings, so that while wearing the "Tuscar" the owner can revel in the lads work.

I'm excited to see the finished piece, and I think I will be even more impressed with this piece in person. for those of you more interested in technical details, go to their website, found over on the right hand side.

Well done John & Stephen, you have excelled in your craft, and I know this will make many collectors very happy to be able to participate in your watches.
